Tracey says, "Under Pressure is one of the few diptychs in my collection. I wanted to convey the feeling that we all have from time to time of trying to keep all the plates spinning. This pretty sums up motherhood for me. The constant juggle and attempting to create the best life even when curve balls are thrown your way. An outward appearance of appearing as you want to be seen whilst occasionally cracking under pressure. It's just how life goes, even in the best of times. I enjoyed these two pieces so much and experimented with drying the paint to create crazing and incorporated stencil work for a contemporary twist. The overall result is two pieces that sit sublimely together or apart, conveying the perfect world we try and cultivate for ourselves under often testing circumstances that we hide. There is no such thing as a perfect life but we must always take time to appreciate the beauty in the one we have, Hydrangeas have played a big role in this new collection as they are so commanding and showy. It almost feels to me like they are telling the other garden flowers 'this is how we do it'."
